In theatre school, we did the musical Working, based on the book by Studs Terkel. The book was based on his interviews with people about their jobs. Just regular people with regular jobs.

So weird. I did that musical in college, and played that part of the construction worker, too. The big closing number was “See that building,” and by the end, Jason is right, you can spot the dads and blue collar workers easily. They were the ones weeping and giving us a standing ovation . Also, I can’t sing.
